Candence Hester and Forrest Hale of Kids Chance
Kids' Chance - Georgia
Executive Directorship
In New, Capable Hands
Atlanta Office to Open -
Valdosta Still Key
By Polly Hale - President of Kids Change, Georgia
Eight years ago, Phyllis Daniel retired as Executive Director of Kids’ Chance of Georgia and no one on the Board of Directors could imagine who we would find to work with our “Kids” with the same loving spirit, and then we met Cheryl Oliver!
Cheryl stepped in and quickly became the heart of Kids’ Chance and now it is difficult to imagine that she is retiring. We can not adequately thank Cheryl for all of her hard work and dedication over the years, but fortunately for Kids Chance, Cheryl has promised her continued support and active participation as a Regional Advisor! Thank you Cheryl, we appreciate everything you have done for our Kids and we wish you the very best in this exciting phase of your life!
Kids’ Chance will take this time of transition to open an Atlanta office and spearheading the effort will be Forrest Hale, who has accepted the position of interim Executive Director. He will be working closely with Cadence Hester, who will be transferring to the Atlanta office when plans are finalized. We welcome Forrest who has been a long time supporter of Kids’ Chance and appreciate his willingness to fill this position and insure that we can continue to serve our “Kids” without interruption.
Ed. Note: Kids’ Chance President, Polly Hale and Forrest have been married for over thirty years and share a love for Kids’ Chance. They look forward to this opportunity to work together to promote the ongoing stability and growth of the organization. Polly is Manager of Medical Management Services of Builders' Insurance Group in Atlanta.
By Forrest Hale
With Cheryl Oliver’s retirement as Executive Director of Kids’ Chance, I was asked to write “something” about myself in the way of an introduction. I am Forrest Hale and I first became involved with Kids' Chance along with my wife, Polly shortly after Valdosta attorney Bob Clyatt put his noble idea into action.
Bob founded Kids' Chance. Inc. to provide scholarships to the children of catastrophically injured workers. I have watched this organization grow, touching the hearts of everyone who hears of its work. The success of Kids’ Chance owes much to the efforts of its two previous Executive Directors, Phyllis Daniels and Cheryl Oliver, so I am humbled, but happy to have been appointed by the Board of Directors to assume this leadership role and work with the organization in opening an office in the Atlanta area.
I am inspired by the growth of Kids’ Chance, now working with states across the country to develop their own scholarship programs and establishing a National Kids’ Chance Organization! I hope that my experience in financial and management audits of government and private organizations together with a love of people gained in my years as a real estate broker, will serve Kids' Chance in responsibly working with our scholarship recipients, and our benefactors.
