Specialists of Georgia Conference
By Dan Miears
On behalf of the Professional Rehab Specialists of Georgia (PRSG), we invite you to attend this year’s conference in Athens, Georgia on October 4.
We have chosen the Classic Center in Athens, GA and, as the Bulldogs fans already know, there is no University of Georgia Football game that weekend.
It is the only off week for this season. The conference last year at Zoo Atlanta was a tremendous success and this year’s conference is already promising that it will be even better. We are seeking approval for 6 contact hours for CRC, CCM, CDMS, nursing, and claims adjusters in Georgia
Case Managers, Adjusters, Rehab Professionals Invited
We have chosen a truly unique location with presenters who are highly respected in their field. Presenters confirmed for the day include, Donald Leslie, MD, Medical Director of Shepherd Center (Keynote), Fred Mullins, MD, Medical Director of the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, Bill Terrell, Orthopedic Surgeon with Pinnacle Orthopaedics, and Arthur Simon MD, Plastic Surgery, Hand Specialist.
The Late Harry Huggins Honored with Award in His Name
Prior to lunch, we will be announcing the first recipient of the “Larry Huggins Rehabilitation Specialist of the Year” Award, honoring both Larry and a very deserving recipient. We were all saddened by the loss of Larry, and the board at PRSG thought this was way we could honor him for his many contributions to workers compensation and rehabilitation in Georgia.
During lunch we have assembled a panel to speak on ethics in case management, with presenters Debbie Berens, MS. CRC, LuRae Ahrendt, RN, Nan Decolaines, MA, CRC and Mike Rosetti. Esquire, plaintiff attorney.
The highlight of the afternoon will be having two of the most well respected vocational experts in the field presenting together onstage. Dr. Tim Field and Dr. Roger Weed will appear together in a presentation that is sure to be remembered by all.
Elvis Lives! "2008 Comeback Special"
Saturday evening we have planned a special night with the nationally renowned Elvis impressionist, Harold Schultz. We are calling this the “2008 Comeback Special”.
Harold does an incredible job as the young Elvis. Now, Harold isn’t just any Elvis impersonator, he’s performed on The Tonight Show, CNN, Fox News, America’s Got Talent, Entertainment TV, NBC, and many others. Harold has also played large corporate parties for Microsoft, IBM, Delta, McDonald’s, Universal Studios and many more.
It’s going to be a great show, with a lavish Greek buffet provided by Athen’s Trump’s restaurant. Best of all, the conference is free to people who join PRSG before August 3, so come along and join us for all the fun! OPA!
