Atlanta Claims Association Names Scholarship Winners

Scholarship Recipients 2009-2010
Each year the Atlanta Claims Association awards the ACA President's Scholarship to a deserving student at Georgia Southern University who is studying Insurance and Risk Management. To assist Georgia Southern in helping out deserving students, they receive $2000 from ACA. Georgia Southern has decided to award two individuals a $1000 scholarship. This year's recipients are Mallory Mitchell and Tyler Dillon.
Mallory Mitchell
Mallory Mitchell is from Vienna, GA. She is a candidate for a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with emphasis in Personal Financial Planning, with a GPA of 3.35. In addition to receiving the ACA Scholarship, she is also a HOPE scholar and on the Dean's List.
In order to get prepared for her career Mallory has interned with Edward Jones Financial Group. She has also been active within the community with several volunteer groups of note: St. Jude's Up "Til Dawn where she was head of the fundraising team for St. Jude's Children Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, and the Ronald McDonald House, just to name a few.
Tyler Dillon
Tyler Dillon is from Johns Creek, Georgia. Tyler is expected to graduate in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. His finance concentration had an emphasis in Risk Management and Insurance where he has a GPA of 3.02.
Tyler has interned with Cincinnati Insurance Company and Dillon Insurance Services where he has gotten an introduction to insurance, underwriting, the issuing of policies and claims. His plan following graduation is to secure an underwriting position with a commercial carrier.
While at Georgia Southern Tyler has been a recipient of the HOPE scholarship for 2006, 2007, and 2009. He has also volunteered with his fraternity initiatives and the Special Olympics.
The Atlanta Claims Association wants to extend our congratulations to both Mallory Mitchell and Tyler Dillon as this year's recipients of the ACA President's Scholarship and wishes them both much success in their future endeavors.
